People have been using adwords ads to drive traffic to affiliate sites for years, so why not drive traffic to a site where you can build relationships with people?  Heck, he’s got the money.   Gary is being transparent, he’s not selling anything in the ad and he’s not promissing anything extraordinary so is there anything wrong with what he is doing, either ethically or strategically?

This is not meant to pick on Gary at all but it does speak to how the so called “web celebs” treat a lot of the social media users out there (especially on twitter).  Granted you obviously don’t have to listen to what anyone tells you, BUT when you are seen as a “celeb” or somewhat authority on social media you wield more power than the rest and most of the time people will listen to you.

These series of tweets should say it all.

Your thoughts?  Do you find that more people are “molesting” or “seducing” social media users?
