Friday's Food for the Soul
So this week I have been doing a lot of “what if” thinking. I think it’s actually pretty healthy to sit down every once in a while and think about the possibilities, the options, and that “what if’s” of life. There is the classic “what would you do with a million dollars question”. My thoughts were more geared toward, what would you do if your company expanded rapidly? What would you do if your company failed? What would you do if you needed to raise money? I also like to think a bit more abstractly and vaguely as well, “what if you had to move to China?” What if you never used computer again?”

Friday's Food for the Soul
A lot of people go through life fearing risk. It’s not hard to see why either, risk is a big thing. You can lose a lot and you can gain a lot, but either way you learn something. Now, I’m not talking about the risk that goes into gambling, I’m talking about the risk that goes in to betting on yourself. You know, a while ago I was very much interested in the stock market, I actually came quite close to being a broker a Morgan Stanley, but then one day, I saw the branch manager come into the office and let several of the employees go, one of which hired me. I am not going to spoil the ending but if you have not seen the film, I highly recommend it. I was just thinking about this film and it made me wonder…

Friday's Food for the Soul
Last week I introduced what I am calling, Friday’s Food for the Soul. Every Friday, I am going to talk about something non-tech or work related. There are so many things that I can talk about and explore; art, history, traveling, philosophy, etc. Friday is my day to do so and I hope you will join me and share your thoughts and ideas with me. I think it is important for all of us to spend time thinking about and pondering things that are not directly related with what we do for a living. How often do you let your mind explore?

Friday's Food for the Soul
I have decided that every Friday is going to be “Food for the Soul Friday.” I have been wanting to do this ever since I created this blog, and now I am going to. The purpose of this is to remind myself that there is indeed a world outside of tech, to reflect on the week’s activities, and to provide all of you a break from the whole tech scene (not to mention preserve my sanity). So what does “Food for the Soul Friday” include? Well quite frankly it includes anything and everything. So without further adieu…
