Did Twitter Just Make Homepage Changes?

April 30th, 2009

Is it just my imagination or did twitter make some homepage changes.  I don’t recall seeing this before do you?

twitter homepage changes

Twitter made a few font changes, added in the search bar (or was that always there?), and included some of the trending topics.  Is anyone else seeing this on their sidebar?

Thank You Peter Kim and Jeremiah Owyang

April 30th, 2009

thank-you

I’m working on several exciting projects at the moment that I can’t yet disclose, but this isn’t about that.  I’ve been researching several great resources for social media stats and examples and I just wanted to highlight the outstanding work that Peter Kim and Jeremiah Owyang have done in collecting and aggregating a lot of valuable information.

These are two sources you should bookmark and check out frequently.

Peter Kim has started a large list of social media examples that eventually led to the creation of a 3 part wiki.  This wiki has hundreds of social media examples from various companies from around the world.  If you want to see what companies are doing in the social media space, then this is an excellent resource for you.

Jeremiah Owyang from Forrester has started a collection of various social media statistics from many of the top social networking sites such as Facebook and Hi5.  His post is updated throughout the year so it’s something you should check out regularly.

These have become invaluable resources for a lot of the work I have been doing lately, and I just wanted to make sure that you are aware of these great resources.  Thanks Peter and Jeremiah.

Does “Listening” Make Sense for Everyone?

April 26th, 2009

(Buddha in a cave, on the way to say the world’s largest Buddha, Lei Shan- China) Oftentimes you’ll hear social media folks talk about the importance of listening before getting involved in social media.  I was thinking about this a little bit and I don’t think listening applies to everyone, or at least as a [...]
